What We Do & Who We Are
The Wissahickon Figure Skating Fund, Inc. (WFSF) furthers the sport of figure skating by providing financial support to skaters who are members of the Wissahickon Skating Club (WSC) in Philadelphia, PA. Currently the Fund:
- Provides subsidies for the figure skating camp at the club
- Underwrites travel expenses for WSC’s three synchronized skating teams, Philadelphia Symmetry
- Recognizes an annual Academic Honors Team, providing financial awards for middle and high school skaters
- Contributes to a weekly Edges Class, open to all WSC skaters
- Hosts informational seminars for skaters and their families
The WFSF is a tax exempt, not-for-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the federal tax code. Throughout the year, the WFSF holds fund-raisers to provide stipends to competitors, underwrite seminars, and sponsor other activities that assist in the development of figure skaters. We have a volunteer board of 12 members presently consisting of: a skating coach, a skating judge, a WSC Board Member, a WSC Junior Figure Co-Chair, adult skaters and parents of skaters.
